However the 22 pellet could get by with a very very slow twist due to the shotgun slug like design of the pellets (center of gravity ahead of center of pressure), and would be a lot more accurate with a slower twist. Air rifles are some of the most accurate projectile firing guns in existence. Bill

Distance is 41 yards I'm told at the local club shoot. A few guys brought in the guns and choke tubes and asked me to make a few. One guy had what looked like a Remington 1100 but made in Russia. Any of the HW rifles are excellent. The HW97 is a very nice rifle and would a excellent choice. It is a little on the heavy side, but if that doesn't bother you it's very accurate and one of the best quality production rifles made today. Flip a coin for what caliber you get. It's more a matter of preference, than one being better than the other.

Cold air guns suck up a lot of air. Mine uses about 5 HP from my air system to run. I use my cold air gun or flood coolant. I hate misters. Even with 450 CFM ventilation at each machine if I have a mister running after a couple of hours you can see the fog floating in the shop. Bob

Not sure if you noticed or not, but haas installs the air line used for the air gun, even if you dont purchase that option. Take a look in the air lube cabinet for a red 1/4 inch line that is tucked in back. Should lead up to inside the spindle head and be capped off. Made putting air blast in real easy.

Not so with powder burners. That's first, so I assume you are talking about a 30 cal PCP air rifle. If so, you should use precision shafting as a starter then grind 3 inches of the barrel end to compensate for any pellet choking. Lastly, properly executed.020" is more than adequate pellet to baffle clearance.
