im looking forward to the classic m22 whine with the new Auto Gear Muncie (ultra wide ratio) M22Z. It has 2.98/2.04/1.46/1 ratios. First gear 2.98x3.08 rear yields 9.2 in first. MUCH better than my previous clutch slipping setup with 2.64x2.73=7.2. With 27" (255/60/15) tires highway rpm should be 2300@60, 2500@65 and 3000@78 - thats nice.

The 1965 M22 maintained the 10-spline input and 27-spline output as all other Muncie transmissions from that model year.The 1965 M22 also had the drain plug boss drilled and tapped for a magnetic drain plug. 3500 x 3.08 / 4.10 = 2629 RPM. Using an M22Z with a 3.08:1 is like having an OD with a 4.10:1 AND you still have the takeoff feel of an M22 and a 4.10:1 combination.
