I made one out of "on hand" materials, to include old hurricane shutters. Made no effort to make it look good as all I wanted to do was control dust. I believe you can buy canvas versions.

Tent-like domes like this one get great ratings, but come with a hefty price tag. I'd prefer this model because it has a 4" vacuum port in the bottom to connect to my dust collector. Upland, CA. Posts. 1,344. That saw has better dust collection than most miter saws since it isn't a slider and has a decent sized port directly behind the blade. I suggest as much vacuum and as large a hose as you can manage. Also keep it as short as you can and put the end over the port so as not to restrict airflow.

It would look something like this. It maybe isn't the dust port you are looking for but it would serve the same purpose to contain and collect the dust as much as possible. If your saw stays put in a shop it might be a better option just to add a custom shroud/hood out of plywood with your dust extractor hooked up at the bottom. 1.

My problem was that in order to mount the saw with some room left on the bench, the build in dust collection had to be removed. I started by designing a prototype in SketchUp. The first prototype worked well, but could be improved by using more of the 4″ dust collection system. I redesigned it to use two 2.5″ ports, split off of the 4″ line.
