I was reading Fanuc's manual, which is horribly written, and managed to find some instructions. It talks about P type and Q type restart, as well as the program restart mode button on the controller. I did exactly what the manual said, but the controller doesn't exhibit the behavior described in the book.

0. Re: ATC. Automatic Tool Changer issue. Leadwell Mill, MCV-OP Fanuc OM controller. Actually windows XP was the only OS that would work with NC Link apparently. I was lucky to have a working laptop with XP, actually 2 laptops with XP and one screwed up while i was attempting to load programs to the CNC.

Join Date. Dec 2009. Posts. 26. You should have a manual switch to move the changer out and back. In MDI mode do a M19 command to orientate the spindle then switch to manual and use the manual switch to put the changer back in position. You cant do anything to the ATC until you do a M19. With regards to the machine using/needing a Tool Change Macro, you need to determine if the control is equipped with User Macro A or B. You can determine this by examining the Macro Variable page accessible via the Offset Key. If the Variables start at #100 then the control only has Macro A. If they start at #1, then the control has Macro B.
